ONDO Token Surges 68% as US Regulatory Shift Ignites Real-World Asset Tokenization Rally
Price Surge
The native token of Ondo Finance, ONDO, has skyrocketed 68% over the past week, hitting $0.45 as of press time, according to CoinGecko. In the last 24 hours alone, the token gained 29%, marking its strongest daily performance in months.

'This is a classic breakout catalyzed by macro tailwinds,' said Sarah Chen, senior analyst at BlockVault Research. 'Investors are finally recognizing Ondo's role in the rapidly expanding real-world asset tokenization space.'
RWA Tokenization Momentum
Ondo Finance operates a platform that tokenizes real-world assets (RWA) such as Treasuries, corporate bonds, and other traditional financial instruments. The surge aligns with a broader industry pivot toward tokenization, which promises to improve liquidity, reduce costs, and democratize access.
Data from RWA.xyz shows the total market cap of tokenized assets has surpassed $12 billion, with Ondo capturing a growing share. 'Ondo's infrastructure is designed for institutional-grade compliance, which sets it apart from many DeFi-native alternatives,' noted Michael Tran, a research partner at Delphi Digital.
US Regulatory Tailwinds
The rally comes amid a US policy shift favoring tokenization. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently issued a no-action letter for a tokenized fund, while the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) signaled support for banks to custody digital assets. These moves have accelerated institutional interest.
'Regulatory clarity is the single biggest catalyst for tokenization,' said Robert Klein, former SEC advisor and now partner at Klein & Associates. 'Projects like Ondo that are built with compliance in mind are best positioned to capture the coming wave.'

Background
Ondo Finance launched in 2021 to bridge traditional finance and DeFi by issuing tokenized versions of real-world assets. Its flagship product, the Ondo Treasury Bill Fund, offers yield from short-term US government debt. For months, ONDO traded sideways even as the platform expanded its total value locked (TVL).
The token's market capitalization now stands at approximately $450 million, with daily trading volumes surging past $100 million. 'This price action is reflecting what we've seen in fundamentals—strong product-market fit and increasing adoption,' added Chen.
What This Means
The ONDO surge signals that the market is pricing in a future where tokenized real-world assets become a multi-trillion-dollar sector. For investors, it suggests that tokens tied to institutional-grade, regulated products may outperform speculative DeFi assets in the current cycle.
'This is just the beginning,' said Tran. 'If the US continues to provide clear rules, we could see Ondo lead a new wave of tokenization projects that reshape how we think about asset ownership.' The broader market is watching closely, but for now, ONDO is the breakout star of the week.
